The final group expedition of the 08/09 season aboard the Aurora delivered yet another great journey from Coron to El Nido during the first week of June...
Despite the increasingly challenging wet weather, the intrepid group decided on a meandering route through the Calamian group and a wet white knuckle passage across the Linapacan Strait, followed by calmer waters and sunshine down through the Linapacan group to El Nido led by Jack, one of our most experienced expedition guides. On the last day of the expedition, the 11 strong group made their way to Dibnay on the northwest coast of Northern Palawan, and completed their route into El Nido town by jeepnay and logging road, complete with Ulan the boatdog as mascot up front on the roofrack!
However the Aurora crew had to wait for a further three days until they could complete the boats passage along the remaining 25km to the Bacuit Bay, due to a flash typhoon passing through the area/ when the prevailing wind and waves permitted.
The final Aurora Expedition of the season...
